Create a Pure World: The Practice of Mandala Offering

Spiritual realizations depend upon purifying negativity, accumulating merit and receiving blessings. One powerful practice to accumulate merit is making mandala offerings. Merit enables us to fulfill our and others’ wishes. Join us as we learn how to sow seeds of future happiness. In the afternoon, we will engage in this practice in the workshop, How to Make a Mandala Offering.

How to Start a Regular Meditation Practice

Buddhist teachings help us transform our mind from an uncontrolled state to one that is peaceful in all situations. To accomplish this inner transformation, we must take Buddha’s teachings into our heart by training in meditation. Breaking Bad Habits

Our bad habits stem from what Buddha calls ‘delusions’, negative or disturbed states of mind. Like all bad habits, these minds can be stopped. By reducing and slowly abandoning our deluded minds, we can achieve a peaceful, joyful mind. In this class, we will learn to reduce our bad habits in a wise, gentle manner, overcoming them gradually without discouragement or guilt.

Happiness, Success & The Law of Karma

Our lives are filled with various kinds of suffering. Although we wish for happiness, we often create the causes for future misery. Why? We don’t know about the law of karma. When we learn which actions to abandon and which to practise, there will be no basis for our experiencing suffering.

In this course, we will explore simple, reliable methods to banish future suffering and create future happiness.

Take Control of your Life

In reality, the source of happiness lies within the mind, and is accomplished through sincere spiritual practice. By learning to control our mind, we can create authentic, lasting happiness.

We will explore basic meditation techniques that allow us to experience inner peace. We’ll focus on the two major obstacles to successful meditations: mental wandering and mental sinking.
