Understanding the Law of Karma

About the Course: Understanding karma can help us change our life for the better. Karma is a special instance of the law of cause and effect whereby our actions are causes and our experiences are their effects. Virtuous actions are the cause of future happiness and non-virtuous actions are the cause of all future suffering.

In this course we can learn how to abandon non-virtuous actions and how to purify past non-virtuous actions to prevent their effects from appearing in the future. We will also learn how to engage in powerful virtuous actions that lead to the supreme happiness of enlightenment.

About the Course: Heart Jewel contains 2 practices through which we can overcome obstacles to our meditation practice and create favourable conditions so that we can nurture and increase our spiritual realizations.  If we practise this regularly and sincerely, we will reap a rich harvest of pure Dharma realizations, and eventually come to experience the supreme joy of full enlightenment.

In this day course, Buddhist nun and Teacher Kelsang Rigma will guide us through this beautiful practice, which is the very essence of the New Kadampa Tradition of Mahayana Buddhism.

About the Course: In this busy, modern world, many people are now turning to meditation.  The goal of meditation practice is to become deeply familiar with positive states of mind that are conducive to happiness.  If you’ve been thinking of trying meditation or wish to reboot your practice of meditation, these workshops are perfect for you.  We will explore the basic meditation techniques that will allow us to experience inner peace.  In particular, we will discover how to avoid the two major obstacles to successful meditations: mental wandering and mental sinking.  Everybody welcome!
