A Practical Meditation for Everyday Life

In this meditation class, we will learn meditations that help reduce mental busyness and distractions, bringing clarity, peace, and focus into our lives. These meditations can be practiced by anyone and are a powerful way to develop a calm mind that stays peaceful and happy, even in the face of adversity.

These classes include two guided meditations and a practical talk on a weekly topic. After each class, there is time for Q&A.

Each class is self-contained so feel free to drop-in when you can!  Each class will be followed by complimentary refreshments and the opportunity to ask questions. Everybody welcome!

Meditation Basics

We want to be happy all the time, even during sleep. How can we do this? We can do this through training in meditation, which makes our mind peaceful. When our mind is peaceful, we are happy all the time, regardless of our external circumstances.

The theme of tonight class is meditation on the root mind*. This simple yet profound meditation can be practised by anyone, helping us experience inner peace, mental clarity, and increasing our love and compassion for others.

These classes are perfect for those who wish to build the foundations of a successful meditation practice. No previous experience is required.

Each class is self-contained so feel free to drop-in when you can!  Each class will be followed by complimentary refreshments and the opportunity to ask questions. Everybody welcome!

Meditation Basics

We want to be happy all the time, even during sleep. How can we do this? We can do this through training in meditation, which makes our mind peaceful. When our mind is peaceful, we are happy all the time, regardless of our external circumstances.

6-Week Series of Thursday Evening Classes

The practice of meditation enables us to transform our mind into a positive state. By transforming our mind in this way, we can improve every aspect of our life, as our experience of the world depends entirely on our mind.

  • Kelsang Rigma is a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for over 20 years. She was the Resident Teacher at the Kadampa Meditation Centre Cologne, Germany, last year. She is delighted to continue to teach in Canada. She is particularly valued for her warm and open nature and her clear teachings, which always focus on the practical importance of Buddha’s teachings for our everyday life.
