Drop-in Class ~ Introduction to Tantric Meditation

Introduction to Tantric Meditation

4-Week Series of Tuesday Evening Classes

Tantric meditation harnesses the power of our imagination and wisdom to bring about swift positive inner transformation. We learn special meditative techniques to let go of self-limiting perceptions and unhelpful states of mind, embracing our potential for lasting peace and happiness. These methods can be enjoyed by anyone and practiced in daily life.

Based upon the book, Modern Buddhism (Tantra), by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, this four week course, introduction to Tantra, will introduce to you essential Tantric meditations.

For those who are interested, this course is also a perfect preparation for the Tantric empowerment, “Awakening The Heart: The Blessings Empowerment of Avalokiteshvara” on Saturday 3rd February.

These classes are held in the peaceful, spacious, quiet and comfortable meditation room at Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada.  Each class is self-contained, so you are welcome to join at any point. Each class will be followed by complimentary refreshments and the opportunity to ask questions.  We also have many books and materials available at our Temple shop to help people deepen their learning and experience through further reading.  No previous experience of meditation is required.  Everybody welcome!

Course topics:

Week 1 ~ Jan 9: Introduction to Tantra

Week 2 ~ Jan 16: Identifying with our potential

  • Parking spaces are limited in the area. For this reason, it is easier to come by public transport if this is an option for you.

It is possible to find parking in the nearby streets. However, it is generally not possible to park for more than 3 hours during the day. It is necessary to have a permit in order to park overnight in the area.

Temporary day parking spots nearby: Some options are available for temporary day parking spots nearby, for example with the following companies: Green P Parking, Spot Hero.

Temporary on-street permit parking in Toronto: Provided space is available, a temporary parking permit may be purchased by residents and their guests to park a motor vehicle on a street designated under the permit parking program of the city of Toronto. This program generally services those residential areas where driveways are not common. If you choose this option, please avoid parking on Crawford St. if possible. You may get a ticket as it is complaint driven and the residents have limited space for their own street parking on Crawford St.
