The Freedom of Emptiness
A Meditation Journey
Tuesday Drop-in classes with Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Chodor
Mar 18, 25, Apr 1, 8, 15 & 22
Is the world as real as we think it is? Buddha taught that the world is “empty” of existence from its own side, yet we rarely question the way things appear to us. We assume that the world exists independently, separate from our mind—but this could not be further from the truth.
In this inspiring meditation course, we will explore the profound wisdom of emptiness, discovering how our mind plays an essential role in shaping our experience of reality. By deepening our understanding of this truth, we can free ourselves from limiting perceptions, dissolve negative emotions, and uncover a vast, unshakable inner peace.
Through guided meditations and practical teachings, you will learn how to integrate the wisdom of emptiness into daily life—transforming challenges, relationships, and even your sense of self. Experience the freedom and joy that come from seeing the world as it truly is!
In this 6-week meditation series, we will explore meditations on ultimate truth, emptiness. Each session will guide us deeper into this profound wisdom:
Week by week topics:
Mar 18: What Is Emptiness?
Mar 25: Emptiness of Our Body
Apr 1: Emptiness of Our Mind
Apr 8: Emptiness of Our Self
Apr 15: The Emptiness of All Phenomena
Apr 22: The Practice of Emptiness in Our Daily Activities

Each class is self-contained, so you are welcome to join at any point.
Our classes begin with a brief introduction, followed by an initial guided meditation to settle the mind and create a feeling of inner peace. This is followed by a talk on an aspect of meditation practice related to the series topic, and concludes with a guided meditation related to the talk.
After each class, we invite you to join us in our community room for complimentary refreshments and an opportunity to ask questions.
You do not need to be a Buddhist to attend, and no previous experience with meditation is required.
Everybody is welcome!

It is possible to find parking further away in the nearby streets. Please allow more travel time.
However, it is generally not possible to park for more than 3 hours during the day. It is necessary to have a permit in order to park overnight in the area.
