How To Stop Overthinking!

Every so often, we need to declutter. We usually feel great satisfaction when our kitchen, office, garage or bedroom is clean and tidy. But what about our mind?

Buddha taught that our mind is always moving, flitting from thought to thought without control. These fleeting thoughts might seem harmless, but our unstable attention makes our inner world cluttered and unpeaceful. This makes it almost impossible to live fully in the moment. While we all need to reflect, understand and make decisions, sometimes we can end up overthinking. Our thoughts become circular, repetitive, negative, unclear or stuck. We find it hard to ‘switch off’ which is both exhausting and unproductive.

In this short meditation retreat we will learn certain meditations and ways of thinking derived from Buddha’s teachings that can help us balance our mind, think more clearly and create a sense of calm as we navigate our world with all its stress and stimulation.

By decluttering our mind of repetitive or unwanted thoughts, we will be able to embrace the present wholeheartedly and live a much happier life.

True relaxation stems from inner peace. By cultivating this inner peace, we can find serenity within ourselves and stay calm, even in situations that typically stress us out.

Join us for a transformative meditation retreat where you'll learn simple yet powerful techniques to enhance your inner peace and achieve deep relaxation. Whether you’re a seasoned meditator or a complete beginner, you’re welcome to attend. No prior experience with meditation is required.

Our retreats are held in the serene, spacious, and comfortable meditation room at Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada.  In between sessions, enjoy complimentary refreshments and the opportunity to ask questions. Our Temple shop also offers a variety of books and other meditation materials to support your journey toward greater understanding and tranquility.

If our mind is peaceful, we will be happy all the time, regardless of external conditions, but if it is disturbed or troubled in any way, we will never be happy, no matter how good our external conditions may be.  In this half-day meditation retreat we will learn how to meditate on the mind itself with a sequence of beautiful and profound meditations taught by Buddha. With regular practice, these meditations help us to experience mental clarity and a deep and profound inner peace.  

Through training in concentration observing our own mind we can overcome distractions and come to experience for ourself the inner peace arising from the clarity of the mind.
